Your Appointment
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your initial appointment is 45 minutes. This includes a thorough health history and assessment, a discussion of your goals and concerns, and your first treatment. You will leave with a clear understanding of what was found, what we are working on, and what your care plan looks like going forward.Â
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable loose fitting clothing that allows easy access to the areas being treated. Athletic wear works well. If needed, draping will always be provided to ensure your comfort and privacy.Â
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring any relevant health history, imaging reports, or previous diagnoses if you have hem. Your intake forms will be sent to you ahead of your appointment and completing them before hand helps us make the most of your time together.
Pregnancy Care
Yes. Chiropractic care is safe throughout all stages of pregnancy when performed by a practitioner trained in perinatal care. Dr. Newton has advanced training in pregnancy and birth care and uses techniques specifically adapted for pregnant patients, including positioning and gentle methods that avoid any pressure on the abdomen.
You can begin chiropractic care at any point during your pregnancy. Many patients find it beneficial to start in the first trimester to support their body as it begins to change, though care is safe and effective at any stage.
Chiropractic care during pregnancy can help with pelvic alignment and balance, lower back and hip pain, round ligament discomfort, sciatica, and overall comfort and mobility. Supporting a well-aligned pelvis may also contribute to more optimal fetal positioning and decreased risk of labour complications as your pregnancy progresses.
Yes. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment designed to address sacral and pelvic misalignment. Dr. Newton is certified in this technique and uses it as part of her care approach with all patients, especially when pregnant.Â
Pediatric Care
Yes. Pediatric chiropractic care uses extremely gentle techniques specifically adapted for young bodies. It looks nothing like the adjustments used for adults. The pressure used for an infant adjustment is no more than you would comfortably apply to your own eyeball. Dr. Newton has advanced training in pediatric care and a deep passion for supporting children’s health from the very beginning.
Many parents choose to bring their newborn in shortly after birth, particularly following a long or difficult labour and delivery. Other common reasons to bring an infant or child include feeding difficulties, tongue tie recovery, colic or unsettled behaviour, torticollis, delayed milestones, and general wellness checks. Children of all ages are welcome.
Pediatric adjustments are gentle, precise, and often very quick. For infants, the adjustment may look like nothing more than a light touch. Many babies sleep through their appointments. Older children typically find adjustments comfortable and often enjoy coming in. Dr. Newton will always explain what she is doing and ensure both the child and their caregivers feel at ease throughout the visit.
Booking & Cancelations
You can book online anytime through our booking link at the top of this web page, or contact us directly by phone or email. New patients are always welcome.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 50% of the appointment fee. Missed appointments without notice will be charged the full appointment fee. We understand that life happens — please reach out as soon as possible if something comes up and we will always do our best to accommodate you.
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for initial appointments which tend to fill quickly. If you are looking for a same day or short notice appointment, please contact us directly and we will do our best to fit you in.
Billing & InsuranceÂ
Yes. We direct bill most major insurance providers on your behalf, so you only need to pay any remaining balance at the time of your appointment. Please have your insurance information ready at your first visit. If you are unsure whether your plan covers chiropractic care, we recommend contacting your provider ahead of time.
No problem — chiropractic care is available to everyone regardless of insurance coverage. Many patients opt to pay out of pocket for care that benefits them regardless of insurance coverage. Payment is due at the time of your appointment.
We accept cash, credit, debit, and e-transfer, as well as providing direct billing to most major insurance providers.
