Your Comox Valley Family Chiropractor: Returning to the Valley and What I’m Excited to Bring Back to All of You

There's a particular kind of homecoming that happens when you've built a life somewhere, left it for a while, and then find your way back. That's where I am right now, packing up in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and getting ready to plant roots again here in the Comox Valley.
I’ve practiced here before. I’ve spoken at parent-and-child groups around the valley, gotten to know local birth workers and body workers, and built relationships with families who were navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and those wild, wonderful early years of parenting. Coming back isn't starting from scratch for me, it's picking up right where I left off.
What time away taught me
Every place you practice teaches you something. My time in Fredericton deepened my focus on the nervous system, how much of what we call "pain" or "tension" is really the body's way of signalling that it doesn't feel safe or settled yet. I was able to practice with some phenomenal chiropractors who taught me so much and depended my appreciation for what we do. That lens has shaped how I work with pregnant patients preparing for birth, with babies who are having a hard time regulating, and with anyone whose stress has taken up residence in their shoulders, jaw, low back, or elsewhere. I have also had the privilege to study under other phenomenal chiropractors and deepen my understanding and skills in cranials.
What does this mean for my practice members?
My practice style overall has remained the same, some things don't need reinventing. I still care for prenatal and pediatric populations, I still enjoy helping expecting parents through the physical demands of pregnancy and birth prep, and helping babies and kids who are dealing with tension, feeding difficulties, or general unsettledness. I still believe families deserve a provider who treats them like people, not appointment slots. I still look at each individual case from a holistic lense, determining what might be underlying and causing the symptoms. I still incorporate a lot of home care into our visits. I have just added some new tools to my toolbox to be able to help more individuals.
Building something new, together
I'll be practicing out of Full Moon Physiotherapy again, and I'm looking forward to reconnecting with the referral network I built here, from physiotherapists, to RMTs, acupuncturists, lactation consultants and more. Good care rarely happens in isolation, and I've always valued being part of a wider circle of practitioners who genuinely talk to each other about the families we share.
If you're a former patient, a new parent, or simply someone whose body could use some attention as you settle into a new season I'd love to connect. You are always welcome to reach out if you have any questions that I may be able to help answer.
Feel free to follow along here (or on instagram @dr.kaitethechiro) for more posts on what to expect from appointments as well as lots of insight into pregnancy mechanics, motor milestones for littles, nutrition, and more.
I will be back full time starting Sept 14th and booking is open now! Reach out to the clinic or book online here or through the website. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you.
Sincerely, your Comox Valley Family Chiropractor,
Dr. Kaite
